Carol and Michelle Tiong are the founders of the firm.
Our journey begins in 1998 when Michelle was called to the Malaysian Bar where she commenced her legal practice as an advocate and solicitors. As a legal professional, Michelle strives for perfection and often gone above and beyond what is expected of her. Having a strong ethical behaviour, Michelle builds trust in her team and brings positive work culture in her practice. In 2003, Michelle rose to the challenge and set up her own law practice.
On the other hand, Carol was called to the Malaysian Bar in 2006. Since then, Carol has advised on complex corporate and commercial litigation involving government bodies, port authorities, land authorities, financial institutions, and professional bodies. Carol believes that lawyer plays an integral role in maintaining the Rule of Law viz. Independence, Honesty, Integrity and Fairness. Mirroring the core values, Carol leads by example and exemplifies excellence in her conducts and behaviour to influence others to be better.
Together, Carol and Michelle established Tiong and Associates in April 2019.
Carol specialises in advising and handling shareholders dispute, derivative and oppression actions, directors' liabilities, strategic planning and litigation, and strategic business arrangements such as joint ventures and investments. Apart from the above, Carol also counsel on contractual disputes, tort claims, partnership disputes, and professional malpractice.

Michelle handles a wide variety of real estate transactions, including local and international clients in various banking, finance and real estate transactions. She is also experienced in advising property developers in various aspect of laws relating to the developments of residential and commercial properties in Malaysia.

Kar Ming practices mainly in the areas of contractual and commercial disputes and construction disputes. He gained great experience in advising construction disputes when he was in-house Legal Counsel for a renowned interior fit-out contracting company in Malaysia. Amongst issues handled by him were multimillion prolongation, acceleration, extension of time claims for Dubai Mall, Dubai Marina dan JT Metro Red Line Project and omission of contract. Apart from that, Kar Ming also acted as counsel in various tort claims, professional indemnity, and land disputes. His achievements include having successfully secured leave from the apex court for one of his renowned insurance clients for a professional indemnity appeal, and had obtained an injunction to stop a land scam transfer in land office.

Mun Yee is experienced in advising clients on wide range of day-to-day commercial matters across the core sectors of our clientele. In her course of work, she has advised clients on e-commerce business, distributorship arrangement and commercial disputes. Mun Yee also practices in the field of civil and commercial dispute resolution.
